Propose a 2D dynamic system, with a total number of DoF of 4, which contains • n, rigid bodies n2 point-masses • n3 linear springs n4 linear dampers • ng torsional spring n6 torsional dampers • n7 external forces, and use the Lagrange method to derive the equations of motions for your proposed dynamic system. Numbers n to n, have been generated randomly and are given in file 'A1T1 Numbers.pdf' in the Assessment folder. Each student has a unique set of numbers. Hence, it is impossible that two students propose the same dynamic system. You can use additional light bars, fixed supports, rollers, hinges and weld/glue to connect and support the components. Notes: 1. It is up to you how to arrange the components. In the next part you are asked to derive the equations of motions. Hence, it is strongly recommended that you take this into account while proposing your system. Be creative and report what you have considered to make the solution of Part b easier. 2. All springs, dampers and masses must be active and contribute to the dynamics of the system. Figure below shows an unacceptable arrangement as the linear spring k, is inactive and does not have any contribution to the dynamic of the system. ww k, 2 rigid bodies 3 point masses 3 linear springs 2 linear dampers 1 torsional spring 1 torsional dampers 1 external force Propose a 2D dynamic system, with a total number of DoF of 4, which contains • n, rigid bodies n2 point-masses • n3 linear springs n4 linear dampers • ng torsional spring n6 torsional dampers • n7 external forces, and use the Lagrange method to derive the equations of motions for your proposed dynamic system.
