(1) Human resources Can CC solve the high turnover that plagues the food service industry? Training and development emphasis is currently on management, but most CC employees are crew or waitstaff. Should CC direct more attention to these frontline employees? How much autonomy and how much control should caf managers be afforded? How should management respond to the recent employee survey? Where and with whom would you start? Why?

(2) Scaling/Growth What management systems are relevant for the next phase of growth? Do new specialized roles need to be added to the management structure? How can the company remain entrepreneurial as it adds more locations and employees? What, if any, are the limits of growth?

(3) Leadership How can passion and values be institutionalized as CC grows beyond the personal involvement of Davis and Bisset? How can CCs dependence on the cofounders be reduced? The three leaders are pulling the company in different directions (Bisset toward national expansion, Davis toward a new menu, and Patel toward internal organizational improvement). How can these competing demands be reconciled?
