The company employs more than 2,000 workers in factory in Vietnam. Judy noticed that there is a high turnover rate for employees in the production department. On average, workers in the production department only work for not more than six months, which is substantially lower than the 2-year average of the whole company. Ivy wants to find out why production workers stay so short with the company by conducting a survey on the workers. According to the feedback collected from the questionnaires of the survey, Ivy finds the main complaints of the workers as follows: The workers don't feel motivated because the supervisor sets up very strict procedures to follow for their routine work and does not allow workers to make any change without his consent. The supervisor hardly talks to them with regards to how to do their job and how they have performed. The workers also find the job boring because each worker is only assigned to do a small part of the long work process in the production line. Each worker's task is so simple that requires little skill to perform, and because they fear that their part of the work contribution cannot be recognized by management.
