Question: 8 - to - 1 - LINE MULTIPLEXER In this experiment, we are going to use a given 8 - to - 1 - line

8-to-1-LINE MULTIPLEXER
In this experiment, we are going to use a given 8-to-1-line multiplexer circuit. As it can easily predicted from experiment \(4.1,8\) to 1 multiplexer contains 8 data input, 3 selection inputs and 1 output.
PRE-LAB WORK
1- Draw the block diagram of 8 to 1 multiplexer.
2- Write the truth table of it.
3- Can we design a comparator circuit which compares two 2-bit numbers and detects which is the bigger one? In particular, we have two 2-bit numbers (say X1X0 and Y1Y0). If X1X0 is greater or equal to Y1Y0 the output of the multiplexer should be 1 and the output should be 0 otherwise.
4- Write the truth table of the system described above.
5- Design it by using an 8-to-1-line multiplexer (hint: choose X1, X0 and Y1 as selection inputs).
POSTLAB QUESTIONS
1. Design the circuits given below by using 8 to 1 line multiplexer.
a) Prime number indicator (as we have done in experiment 2).
b) A circuit whose output is 1 if the input is an even number and output is zero if the input is odd (The given input number is assumed to be a 4-bit number).
