Assume there are $6$ memory banks and $2$ processors.

The computer fails if both processors fail or if any two memory banks fail.

What is the MTTF of the system?

Hint: First find the MTTF of processor system and of the memory system separately. Recall the example from class with a datacenter with $10,000$ servers and the system fails if $5,000$ servers fail. Use the same idea for this. We now have the MTTF for the processor system and for the memory system. So to calculate the MTTF here use the first MTTF example $$ the computer fails if either of these two systems fails.
