A student joins a social justice march on a public street. With their mobile phone, the student takes many photos then later posts the images on his/her/their personal blog/website. Later, the student discovers that someone copied the images from the site and altered (cropped) the images to portray a negative meaning, but posted a link to the original source (blog) while posting the images on Facebook.
Could this be copyright infringement? What would the defense be, if any from the possible defendant? You should use terminology of what it takes to win a copyright suit.
