A-107 The Basic Project This is an engineering project where the firm is to design a number of components for a large, industrial robotic production system. The activities, their immediate predecessors and times required are given in the table below. All costs are based on the planned duration. If later work causes an activity to take longer, its assigned costs do not increase. Unless stated otherwise, costs are to be spread equally across the activity. Only the costs given below are assigned to the project. Project Overhead. Each activity is assigned $10,000 per period (the duration of that activity) for project overhead. Engineering Overhead. Each activity is assigned $5,000 per period (the duration of that activity) for engineering overhead. Insurance. Activity A-107 is assigned $20,000 in period 1 (not spread out) to cover insurance on the project. Special Insurance. Activity E-119 uses combustible material. This requires a special insurance rider policy that costs $15,000. It is fully assigned to the first period of E-119. Cost for each activity should be entered individual, not combined, so the project manager can track the separate categories of costs individually. Engineers The activities require different numbers of engineers. The numbers required are given in the table below.
