Running a Family Rusiness Susan and Peter Glaser, who own the consulting firm Glaser \& Associates, in Eugene, Oregon, have realized the challenges of open communication in running a family business. As is the case in most families, members develop strong emotional responses to each other and pick up easily on even subtle nonverbal behaviors, such as a particular glance or tone of voice. Mixed messages are also common among family members.
