As we have learned through our readings, linear programming is a very common decision tool used by organizations for a variety of purposes including planning business operations, portfolio optimization, and workforce planning.

For your initial posting, think about the organizations you have been involved with and the type of problems that these organizations face on a regular basis. Give examples, and react to those of others, of real-world problems faced by one of these organizations, and how linear programming models are being used or might be used to help solve the problems. Remember to briefly describe the problem, identify the decision variables, discuss what factors would be included in the objective function, give a list of what constraints might be important to consider, discuss how values for coefficients might be obtained or estimated, and how the results are being, or might be, used.
