Assessment Indicator I: Case Project

The Case Project is designed to introduce the students to the process of managing and working effectively with people within an organization. Emphasis is given to the classic organizational theory and the seven core managerial competencies. Requirement: It is of paramount importance that students of Organizational Behavior BUS289 comprehensively understand the classic organizational theory and the seven core managerial competencies managing self, ethics, diversity, communication, across cultures, teams, and change. This evaluation seeks to challenge the students in these aspects of Organizational Behavior. Students will be required to present a project that fulfill this requirement.

It is through practice that mastery is achieved. Instructors should provide substantial feedback on this assignment and allow revision in response to that feedback. This project will be assigned on week 5 of the semester and will required submission of at least one rough draft before submission of final project. The final project is due on Week 14.

Guidelines for this Case Project

The following elements must be addressed.

1. Introduction

a. If you are using an organization, please fully describe in the case project. What are the key attributes? What are the strengths and weaknesses?

b. Using your textbook, you can use a current behavioral organizational model

c. Explain why there are differences between the organizational model used by the organization in this project. In other words, what are some of the reasons for using these different organizational models?

d. Describe the type of leadership style used by the organization and the decision-making process

e. Describe internal and external influences on the organization that may have caused the shift in leadership style.

Explain whether or not the changes in leadership style or internal culture of the organization influenced each other
