Assignment Description:

You have recently been hired as a physician office manager for a group for three physicians. During your interview, one of the questions that you asked was "What is the biggest problem that needs to be addressed in the office?" The response was the management of denied claims. There are several claims that have not been paid due to denials. Your first priority in your new position is to clean-up the denied claims and obtain payment if possible. Here is a table containing the current denied claims. (A listing of denial reason codes can be located at the website listed below.)

Step One:Develop a strategic plan to address the current denied claims backlog. Keep in mind, you want to get as many of the claims paid as quickly as possible. Some claims may be a quick easy fix while other claims may take time to fix.

Step Two:Develop a strategic plan which addresses the electronic billing process, CCI edits, and keeps the working of denied claims up-to-date
