You are a new project manager on a software development team. The team you were assigned to is very disorganized. They are using many different lists of priorities in Excel and on your first day, stakeholders are coming to you complaining that nothing is getting done and they have no visibility on when the tasks they are waiting for will be completed.

You talk to your team and they say that they keep getting pulled on different priorities. They start working on a task and they must leave it aside to focus on the latest priority. Because of this, they have a lot of parked tasks.

You also quickly realize that you have no way of knowing what everyone is focusing on, so you don't know what to tell your stakeholders, you're just as blind as they are.

Your first order of business is to schedule a daily 15 minutes meeting in the morning so people can talk about what they are working on, their impediments, and what they plan to do next.

To help people visualize their work in this meeting, you need to set up a virtual Kanban board in Jira.
