You will be required to develop and run 4 coaching session to 4 students of your choice. The coaching sessions should be a task that you are very familiar with and comfortable teaching others.

  • You need to consider the resources you need to run the coaching session.
  • Each coaching session will run for 20 minutes.

PART A:Coaching Session

Select a task in which you are confident and competent.

Write a detailed training plan for each of the coaching sessions using the templates provided.

  1. Session Details and requirements -Time, location, resources. Stakeholders - who needs to be informed?

  1. Task analysis -This should include the underpinning knowledge, the practical skills and occupational health and safety requirements.

  1. Session Plan -To include a description of the coaching strategies and the sequence of events.

1.3: Questionnaire:Produce a set of 5 questions to determine the candidates understanding of what has been coached.

  1. Evaluation(TO BE COMPLETED AFTER COACHING SESSION)-Evaluate how your coaching session went and provide description of areas you would improve on next time you ran your coaching session.

Part B:Conduct a coaching session

Your coaching sessions need to include the following elements and is to be run in the following order:

TASK 1 - Explanation:You are to explain what you will be coaching and what resources you will be using to run your coaching session

TASK 2 - Silent Demonstration:You are to complete your coaching session without any explanation. The idea is to show the finished product of what you will be coaching

TASK 3 - Demonstration and explanation:You are to complete your coaching session describing step by step instructions

TASK 4 - Trainee explanation & coaching:You are to coach a trainee using step by step instruction and provide feedback along the way.

TASK 5 - Trainee demonstration:You are required to have your trainee demonstrate what they have been coached in.

TASK 6 - Questions: Use the question developed in yourQUESTIONAIRREto assess the trainees competency level of the coaching session provided.

TASK 7 -Evaluation(TO BE COMPLETED AFTER COACHING SESSION)-Evaluate how your coaching session went and provide description of areas you would improve on next time you ran your coaching session
