Suppose a CEO who come from the Pacific is being recruited to head an American global company. The company has operations globally in North America, Latin America, Australia, Europe and Asia. Discuss potential challenges and issues that a Pacific island manager/CEO might face when working with people from different cultural backgrounds (i.e. American, Asian, Latin American, Australian, & European). Based on your findings, suggest some managerial skills that are critical to addressing these challenges and issues. The purpose of this individual assessment is to provide a student with an opportunity to develop self-awareness, critical thinking and research skills independently. The student is required to conduct research on a specific management topic/issue and report findings using a specific format (i.e. an academic report format). In writing this Research Report, the student should apply management perspectives, a concept or theory learned from topics covered in the course and allocated readings. The student should also conduct a literature review and search for information beyond lecture notes, textbook and course materials in order to support their findings and argument.
