One important element in being a good health care manager is being aware of your employees' needs as individuals. Each HC manager needs to understand that the individuals who work for them maintain rights and responsibilities as part of their work environment. There are a series of formal laws and regulations as well as "Best Practices" which define the relationship between employees and their workplace. These laws, regulations, and best practices have been developed over a number of years, and have their beginnings in post-WWII America. Prominent among these items are best practices in Human Resources Departments, and development of laws and regulations (ADA, FMLA and WC) which name and define employer and employee responsibilities under the law. Your individual assignment for our Team Exercise #3 this semester is to answer one set of questions listed below on this page. The answers to the questions can be found in your McConnell text and/or in the Guest Presenter information contained under "Course Information". You will need to write one full double-spaced page for your question set answers (3 inch margins all around; correct spelling, grammar and punctuation). Your answers can only be written up as a WORD document. Each person (including the Team Captain) is assigned a separate question set (see "Your Question Set Assignmerlt").
