Case Study 2: Project Cost Management: Activity estimates & budget creation (w/cash flow projections)

Part 1: Activity cost estimates: Using your case study project, prepare a Cost Estimates in MS Excel, that will be reviewed by the sponsor. You should use the data you earlier created for assignments 1 and 2. If you consider that the earlier activity or Work Package data needs some refinements or modification, you can do that. You should create a list of Control Accounts with appropriate code numbers that will help stakeholders easily identify the Department or the Work Packages. The Estimates should have clear demonstration of: a) Activity Cost Estimates b) Activity Contingency Estimate c) Work Package Contingency Estimate d) Control Accounts

Part 2: Budget creation (w/cash flow projections): 1. Using your case study project, prepare a Budget in MS Excel, that will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval. 2. You should use the data you created for earlier assignments. 3. If you consider that the earlier activity, Work Package or estimates data needs some refinements or modification, you can do that. 4. Include Management Reserve 5. The distribution of budget in various head of accounts should be shown on a pie chart in another sheet. The pie chart should depict information on % distribution of fund among heads of accounts 6. Periodic projected cash flow of the project { As appropriate for the selected case study Quarterly or Monthly or Weekly or Daily } 7. Efficient use of MS Excel features formulae, cell-referencing, built-in functions, other features
