Case study: The Unison Opera House
Mr. Brainy waited at Will Call window of the Unison Opera House. He had
reserved specific seating tickets, and for some reason the box office
couldnt find his reservation. The tickets were sold to another customer.
The above problem happened since all the reservations are recorded
manually. Many similar cases happened before, and many visitors are not
satisfied. The satisfaction of all visitors is not followed up since all the
contact details are not saved in a database management system. In
addition, the management dont use any system to track the customer
satisfaction and feedback. Finally, a manual bookkeeping system is used to
record in date order the income and the expenditure of the whole business.
All financial records are audited periodically, and a lot of human errors were
found. There is no backup for the financial records in case of loss or
damage.
Based on the above problem statement, answer the following
1. List potential IS projects that can add values to the Unison Opera
House business.
2. Perform comparison between the proposed potential IS projects. Give
a score for each potential project according to three different criteria
(i.e. Strategic Alignment, Value Chain analysis, Project Size/Duration,
Technical Difficulty/Risks,...). Finally select the most potential project
