Difficulties Attracting & Retaining Human Capital in the Nursing Profession

Instructions: As in other case studies prepared for this class, you will respond to the following questions. You must be very thorough in your response if you desire to earn a C or better grade. You should focus on using the vocabulary found in the chapter and the authors best practices, when appropriate. Your submission will include the questions and the responses.

2. After reading this case study, what would the author in Chapter 9 recommend during recruitment and selection process that would help with nurse retention? Your response should focus on the authors best practices for recruitment and selection, and those that may be missing or need attention in the nursing profession .(8 points)

3. Utilizing the authors best practices, what kinds of strategies would you recommend with respect to learning, development, and training that may enhance nurse retention? (8 points)

4. With respect to compensation, (following authors suggestions for best practices), how might you restructure the compensation and promotion processes to provide more equal opportunity in these areas for female nurses? (8 points)

5. Overall, do you find evidence that the nursing professions is more respected since the Pandemic? Realistically, will this change the attitude of hospital administration? Are there legal issues that hospitals may be required to consider in the future? Your research may find some answers. (8 points)
