While some aspects of employment require you to work alone, it's rare that we operate completely in a vacuum without any sort of collaboration with others. Although you might often feel as if the responsibility to attain your individual goals falls solely on your shoulders, you are also receiving support, assistance, and guidance from others. In other words, everyone has a "team" that they are part of and that they rely on to help get work done. For this assignment, you will reflect on your experiences and create a "Dream Team" roster that is representative of your personal team.
Recall that there are many different types of teams and that the best teams are often diverse when it comes to knowledge, skills, abilities, and talents. And while team members may be very different from one another, they all have a critical role to play. You will create a Dream Team roster that is composed of everyone who is on your team that is aiding you in getting the work done to accomplish your goals, and also anyone who needs to be on your team in order to help you succeed. This will provide you with some insight as to who you already have on your roster, who might be missing so that you can recruit them to be on your team in the future, and the role that each team member might play. Much like we would look for the right team players to put on our work teams, and the right team members to put on our sports teams, we need the right team players in our personal lives as well. Don't forget to include yourself on the team, because you are also a valuable member!. Pictures are optional and the size/scope of your Dream Team will likely vary significantly than what is provided in the example. The people on your team could fulfill roles related to your education, your career, your personal life, your hobbies, your sports, or any other area. Everyone's team is unique! But what isn't unique is the fact that we all rely on others in some capacity. Feel free to dream big and include a few "aspirational" members on your team that you might not actually know. For example, is there an individual (famous person, author, philosopher, athlete, historical figure, fictional character, etc.) that you would love to have on your team because you admire/respect them or otherwise believe they could help you reach your goals? Go ahead and include them! This is a "Dream Team" after all. Just be sure to also include the current people on your team as well.
