Form a group and come up with a restaurant concept anda menu.Share your restaurant concept and menu withthe groupand discuss the following questions:

• Would you visit a restaurant that has a theme like this?
• What are the things you like the best about the concept?
• What are the things you don't like about the concept?
• Would you patronize the restaurant?
• Do you like the menu?
• What would you change about the menu?
• How much money would you be willing to spend on a single visit?
• What is your overall impression of the concept?

After the focus group, discuss the questions below.

• Was it easy to hearall ofthe comments that people had about your restaurant concept?
• Do you think the participants in the focus group were telling you the truth?
• If this were real life, would you take what they said to heart and change things that needed to be changed according to the focus group?
• Would you be willing to change the menu items if the focus group were to be critical of your ideas?
• Are you willing in the future to co-produce and co-group business with your customers?
• What are the advantages and disadvantages of co-production and co-creating?
• What did you learn about conducting a mock focus group? Is this something that you think you will do when you are in the real world as a manager? Was this a good experiential learning exercise?
