Class: Operations Management

For this week, the class assignment will be a 2 to 3-page paper. There will be 2 parts to this assignment.

PART 1

Sustainability is the ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Sustainability is the capacity to improve the quality of human life while living within the carrying capacity of the Earth's supporting ecosystems.

1. You will need to select an organization of your choice and review its sustainability report for 2022/ 2023. You will find a wealth of information about the organization within its sustainability report. The larger the organization the more information will be available. A company's sustainability is a key part of its operations management. Submit in detail how the organization promises or guarantees it will keep people safe and do no harm to the earth.

PART 2

Supply chain-The entire network of entities, directly or indirectly interlinked and interdependent in serving the same consumer or customer. It comprises of vendors that supply raw materials, producers who convert the material into products, warehouses that store, distribution centers that deliver to the retailers, and retailers who bring the product to the ultimate user.

1. Use the same company you selected above concerning sustainability and provide information about the organization's supply chain. Give details about some of the various vendors or handlers on the supply chain and the importance of why those operations need to be successfully managed.
