Copy and paste the data into an Excel spreadsheet.
If the data does not separate into individual columns when you paste:
Make sure the data is still highlighted within excel.
Click Data tab.
Click Text to Columns icon.
A window should pop up. Click Delimited, then click Next.
On the upper left of the next page, make sure the option Space is selected, then click Finish.
Your data should now be separated into individual cells.
Create a frequency table displaying the number students who chose a given number (between 1 and 10). We'll do this with a Pivot Table.
Click in an empty cell to the right of the data
In the Insert tab, choose the Pivot Table icon (likely to be on the far left). Choose Pivot Table from the drop down menu.
For the Table/Range, put in the column containing RandNumb, it may be E1:E191. Click OK.
A pop up on the far right should appear. Check the box next to RandNumb to add the field to the report.
Drag the RandNumb from the field list down to the Row (or Axis) Labels area.
On the Values area, make sure it says Count of Random Number. If not, click the arrow by Sum of RandNumb and choose Value Field Settings from the menu. Change this to Count and click OK
Be sure RandNumb is still in your Row label and close the Pivot Table window
Capture an image of the table and upload it in the Lab 1 Upload assignment (there will be three images for this lab, so you can upload them together at the end). Use a file name along the lines of LastNameLab1Task1.png (saving as a jpg is OK too)
Referring to the frequency table you created, what is the number most frequently selected by the students?
