Hello,

My name is Shane. I am a psychology major here at Apus. My goal is to get a degree and then move on to get a master's degree in social work and then licensure as a licensed clinical social worker. My goal for all of this is to work as a counselor for veterans.

I would describe myself as an introverted extrovert. I enjoy small social settings. Additionally, I like interacting with people but in small groups not huge groups. I spent several years working doing in-home sales. I found going to people's homes, speaking with them, and trying to sell them the products fun, but at the same time I would hate to work at trade shows as an example.

I am a very calculated individual. I like to have a plan and execute the plan. It doesn't bother me to move away from the plan I have set, but I generally won't unless I need to. I am not a spontaneous person, but I can go with the flow when needed.

I would say I am a fairly agreeable person. I care about those around me and tend to focus on their wellbeing before my own. Though I do try to maintain a balance with this, because nobody is useful if they completely neglect themselves.

I would also say I am open-minded. I enjoy hearing new ideas, and new views. The most enjoyment I have had in life was travelling. Seeing new countries, new cultures, and learning about them is something that has always made me happy.

Overall, I like to learn. People, cultures, situations all have something to learn from.
