Case Study This is the story of how Marco adopted an animal from the Fiesta Farm Rescue. Note that your textbook would define that Marco as the Rescues customer, but the Rescue would call Marco an adopter. You should, therefore, also refer to them as an adopter. Marco had been thinking about getting a rooster for their Christmas choir animal musical band for a long time, and when they read the tweet from Fiesta Farm Rescue about the desperate need for adopters, they took action. Marco went to the Rescue the same day they read the tweet. They visited the rehabs Adoption Room and found three rooster they liked, a langshan, a cochin, and a jersey giant. Marco read each roosters information sheet to learn about its history. After reading that the cochin do not appreciate in sharing the spot light, Marco eliminated it from their list, but they still couldnt decide which of the other two roosters to adopt. Marco decided to speak with a rehab volunteer for advice. The volunteer gave Marco valuable information about how each rooster could be expected to behave based on its breeds characteristics. Marco decided to select the jersey giant, because of their ability to learn. Marco next completed an adoption form and submitted it to another volunteer working at the front desk. The form included Marcos contact information, two references, and some information about Marcos plans for housing and caring for the rooster. The volunteer explained that the rooster would be removed from the Adoption Room until Marcos application had been reviewed. Marcos references would be checked and their care plans would be reviewed. The Rescue would call Marco within two business days to notify them of their applications status. If they were approved, they would then make arrangements to pick up their rooster. If they was not approved, they would be told why their application was rejected and the rooster would be placed back in the Adoption Room for someone else to adopt. Marco received a call the next day informing them that their adoption application had been approved. Marco made arrangements to pick up their rooster the same afternoon. Marco was told that they must bring an appropriately-sized cat carrier with her. Marco arrived at Fiesta Farm Rescues front desk where they was asked to pay the $320 adoption fee. The volunteer also asked to see Marcos rooster carrier. Next, another volunteer spent 30 minutes with Marco giving them advice on caring for the rooster. Marco was also provided with the names of vets close to their home and given a vaccination and health record for their rooster. Finally, Marco was able to take their rooster home. Two weeks later, a volunteer from the Rescue called Marco to ask them how the rooster was acclimating to its new home.
