Creating a Security Checklist

Problem Description

You have recently graduated from College and you are on your first day of your new IT Security job. Your job title is IT Security Consultant and you are working for a local IT consulting firm. Your first job assignment is to visit with a client at their place of business and assess the security of their IT infrastructure.

Outcome

Create a checklist that you will use on your visit to assess the security posture of the client. Use the information from Chapter 1, Introduction to Computer Security to help generate ideas for your checklist. You may also use the web to find relevant security articles to help create your checklist. Use your imagination and choose a specific type of industry in which your client operates.

Checklist

Identify your specific type of industry and create at least 20 items for your checklist including but not limited to the following: mandatory network devices, mandatory software, and mandatory policies. For each item in your checklist, include the threat you are protecting against.
