Utilization of the FNPA was an effective screening tool for identifying children at risk for malnutrition and obesity. Of the 30 screenings performed each month, approximately 50% of the patients referred to the pediatrician were actually seen. The reason for a lower success rate was primarily due to lack of resources. The pediatrician was unable to manage the uptick in high-risk referrals as well as her regular patient panel. CDLN will have to look at hiring another specialist or refer those high risk patients to other healthcare facilities with the capacity to treat them.
