Describe a time when you, or someone you know, received an annual evaluation appraisal. How did the supervisor approach the meeting? Did you feel it was a fair assessment of your performance? Did you have an opportunity to discuss the review and give input, or was it a "done deal" when presented to you? Did you change your behavior as a result? If you have been the person delivering a review under the same circumstances to someone else, what would you do differently? What would you do the same way? In general, do you believe there is value in a well-devised, well-administered performance appraisal program?
