Description
This activity will be completed with your team. It will be a part of your class portfolio and is a chance to apply key parts of this module.
Instructions
This assignment addresses course outcomes 2 and 3 and module learning objectives 1,3,5, and 7. In the textbook, read Appendix Ch.4 assignment and Appendix Ch.5 assignment. You will not have to do all of the parts listed there. Thus, to be clear, there are some subtle changes.
For Ch.4, the main deliverable will be a job requirements matrix for Chern's sales associate position. Complete parts a, b, and c. You do not need to complete part d.
For Ch.5, the main deliverable will be the transition analysis. Specifically, you will do the following:
Take the transition probability matrix listed in the appendix and convert it into a forecasted employee table similar to the one listed in Chapter 5. As shown there, you will need to take percentages and convert them into numbers, create a forecast for the end of the year (i.e., add up all the numbers in each column), and then predict a surplus/shortage.
Conduct a staffing yield analysis for the full time sales associate position. Use the information listed in the Ch.5 appendix instructions to calculate the number of applicants needed to acquire the number of new hires you forecast for the full time sales associate position.
Make a judgment on the difficulty of filling this position and provide any recommendations on if Chern's should incorporate any suggestions from this chapter on addressing a temporary/permanent shortage/surplus.
Only one team member needs to submit these deliverables in a Word document. Aim to have the job requirements matrix and the transition analysis in a similar format as to what appears in the textbook. Lastly, make sure that your team name and that all of your team member's names are listed on the Word document.
This assignment is due Sunday by 11:55PMCT and is worth 9 points.
