Part $1$

Complete the QFD template provided.

You are an IT Business Analyst. Your company has decided to offer Auto Insurance Coverage for

customers. You want to gather customer requirements and align those with Functional

Requirements. You wanted to use Quality Function Deployment tool to translate customer needs

into specific design requirements.

You will gather $10$ customer requirements. $5$ are given below, come up with other $5$ from your own

research.

$1.$ Adequate coverage for liability: Customers want auto insurance policies that provide enough

coverage for bodily injury or property damage caused to third parties in the event of an

accident.

$2.$ Comprehensive and collision coverage: Customers want their auto insurance policies to cover

damage to their own vehicle caused by accidents, natural disasters, or theft.

$3.$ Uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage: Customers want coverage in case they are hit by

an uninsured or underinsured driver, or a hit$-$and$-$run driver.

$4.$ Personal injury protection or medical payments coverage: Customers want coverage for

medical expenses, lost wages, and other costs associated with injuries sustained in a car

accident.

$5.$ Deductible options: Customers want to be able to choose their deductible amount to balance

their premiums and out$-$of$-$pocket expenses.

Instructions:

$$ First, familiarize yourself with the concept of QFD and how it can be used to identify

customer needs and design products or services that meet those needs. Take a look at the

resources section.

$$ Review the QFD template provided for this assignment. This template typically includes

several columns and rows for capturing information related to the customer requirements,

technical features, and other relevant information.

$$ Identify the $10$ customer requirements for an auto insurance policy.

$$ Using the template, list each of these customer requirements in the leftmost column.

$$ Next, think about the technical features or attributes that would need to be included in an

auto insurance policy to meet each of the customer requirements. Talk to your Professor if

you need help.

$$ List these technical features or attributes in the corresponding columns to the right of the

customer requirements.

$$ Make sure that the technical features or attributes you list are directly related to and able to

fulfill the customer requirements. For example, if the customer requirement is "adequate

coverage for liability," a technical feature might be "minimum coverage limits of

$$100,000/$$$300,000/$$$100,000."$

$$ Once you have completed the template, review it carefully to ensure that you have

accurately captured all of the customer requirements and that the technical features or

attributes listed are appropriate and relevant. Every section of the template must be

completed.
