One of the key functions of operations management is job design. A lot of my process improvements include job automation, usually via macros in excel to reduce manual work. However, before this improvements could be deployed, they would need to be designed. Once the improvements and automation are deployed, they increase accuracy which helps reduce unnecessary costs. It also reduces the resources needed to preform the same tasks, so other resources can be more focused in other areas.
