The section of Nieto text assigned is written by the author and serves as a background for the production of the text itself. As the module theme suggests, we start by looking at teachers as a part of a system. The system of education is complex and changing. In this preface Nieto suggests that despite the almost crushing system of education, now is "precisely the right time for enthusiastic and courageous young people to commit to the profession...$($Nieto$,19).$
