Discussion (Modules 1 & 2) - Communicating & Writing in Business

Respond to both parts of the prompt below. You can complete each part in separate posts or all in one.

 

Part 1 (Lumen Module 1)

Select at least one of the "seven pillars of communication" presented in Module 1 that you feel you need improvement on. Analyze and explain your answer with an example of when a miscommunication or misunderstanding happened, either in your work, academic or personal life.

 

Part 2 (Lumen Module 2)

Choose a piece of business writing online that attracts your interest (article, blog post, press release, etc.). What made you want to read it? How did the title of the piece influence your decision to read it? Include a link to the piece in your post, then share your thoughts with your classmates on what makes an effective message.
