Discussion Overview: The ability to create goal statements is a critical step in process improvement efforts. A clear goal statement will provide the basis for evaluating the progress of the effort. For this discussion, you will write a personal goal statement that meets the SMART requirements / guidelines. The goal may be related to work, school, or other aspect of your life.

• Share the goal statement with your classmate
  • How does your goal statement meet the SMART guidelines
• Include the type of goal statement have you written. (Goal types are found in our text, Applying Quality Management in Healthcare: A Systems Approach, Chapter 6)
