Consider the following: If you have ever hired a lawyer, or know someone who has, you know that they can be very expensive. For certain kinds of cases, like criminal cases or family law, litigants don't have enough money for everything they need. In cases like this, should paralegals be able to do more tasks that traditionally constitute UPL? For poor clients, should paralegals be able to go to court or file documents on their behalf?
