Surprisingly some people still use these. Even more surprisingly, pencils have a long and complicated supply chain.

1. To help us understand this chain, draw a Supply Chain Map for a pencil. The map should be focused on the pencil manufacturer. Identify at least 8 inputs to this chain (5 inputs directly to the pencil manufacturer, and 3 inputs to those suppliers to the pencil manufacturer), and at least two outputs.

2. After you finish drawing the map, describe three ways that this map could help a pencil-making business. Dont just list the ways, but make sure you describe how this helps the productivity, effectiveness, or efficiency of a pencil-making business
