Doing advertising content analysis helps us gain a deeper understanding of why effective ads work. As you answer, please follow these three $(3)$ steps:

Step $1$: Search the internet for ads. Helpful resources include advertising archives $($e$.$g$.,$ Ads of the World$),$ video sharing sites $($e$.$g$.,$ YouTube$),$ and social media sites $($e$.$g$.,$ Instagram$).$

Step $2$: Select one $(1)$ ad from any product category. $**$Note$...$the ad does NOT have to be a Super Bowl ad$.$

Step $3$: Please briefly answer the items in the bulleted list below. $**$Remember$...$to include your selected ad in your discussion reply by either embedding an image or linking to a video.

What item is being promoted in the ad$?$

Does the ad use a slogan or tagline? If so$,$ what is it$?$

What about the messaging? What can be said of the text, visual, and$/$or auditory elements? Does it provide information? Does it generate an emotional response? Or both?

Does the ad feature people or figures cast as announcers, spokespersons, character types, celebrities, animals, avatars, and$/$or any other figures? Depending on their characterization, how would you describe these people or figures in terms of appearance, body language, posing, age, gender, education, ethnicity, occupation, and$/$or any other distinguishing characteristics?

Describe the action taking place in the ad $($the ad$$s plot$).$

Finally, would you consider buying the product featured in the ad after seeing it$?$ Why or why not?
