Our team goal is to design and build a sorting machine for a specific part.
Team Roles and Leadership:
Martin Poulsen Team Leader assign tasks, oversees progress, sets meeting agendas, runs the meetings
Elizabeth Poulsen Designer will design the sorting machine and take notes at meetings
Midhun Monachan will assemble the loader, hook up all the electrical components and hydraulics, and complete programming of the equipment
Jeff Faust will machine and cut components to match the design
Jenny Francisco in charge of ordering all required components
Team Decision Making:
Decisions about the design will be made by Elizabeth with the help of Martin where required.
Small changes that need to be made during assembly can be made by Jeff and Midhun.
If there are bigger problems with the design they can consult with Elizabeth.
Major decisions should go through Martin, including approval of purchases and finalizing the design.
Team Communication:
Contact Martin if you cannot make a meeting.
Elizabeth will communicate with Jenny about what needs to be purchased.
Elizabeth will also communicate with Jaff and Midhun to explain the design. They can contact her with any questions or concerns about the design.
There will be a comprehensive team meeting at the beginning of the project to discuss roles and what the sorting machine needs to be able to do. Everyone on the team has worked together before so there should not be a forming or storming phase for this project. Hopefully we will be able to get through the norming stage quickly and get to the storming phase where the work gets done. After the initial meeting Martin and Elizabeth will meet once a week to discuss the design. The whole team will meet once every 2 weeks to discuss the plans and design of the sorting machine. Once the design is done Elizabeth and Jenny will meet to discuss what needs to be ordered. The whole team will also meet to go over the design. During the build phase the team will meet once a week to discuss progress and troubleshoot. When the sorting machine is complete the team will meet every 2 weeks for a little while to ensure the machine is working properly.
Team Performance:
Good team performance occurs when everyone does their jobs efficiently and effectively.
If someone tries hard but does not produce quality work Martin will sit down with them to discuss what is going on and if they need assistance or clarification on their tasks.
Poor attendance and work quality will also be dealt with by Martin to determine the causes and possible solutions.
