evaluate the identified needs in the example below and respectfully provide additional needs they might consider.

One organization that has become fascinating to me are paper mills. Working in a Copack Manufacturer we have an in-house paper mill that services our paperboard needs. A papermill has a very complex organizational structure. For the paper mill to function properly, they need to have recyclable material that comes from basic consumers such as you and me. There are also outside vendors that would supply product to be able to convert into roll stock of raw corrugated materials.

These outside materials require some high cost assets to transfer to a final roll such as incinerators for the waste, and massive conveyors that ultimately grind and transfer the fibers to make paper. The industry for papers price tends to fluctuate too which can cause a lot of headaches throughout planning and pricing for your customer.

Some utilities that are critical are electricity and water as the mill constantly is heating up the inbound material to convert to a final product, they need the hot water to break down the fibers in the paperboard.

Being in Wisconsin, there are a lot of environmental considerations when looking at the facility. Corrugated products tend to be very sensitive with heat and cold. With hot summers the corrugated boxes tend to bend and warp which can cause the product to go out of specification. This is important to know to build a process control for inspecting and storage of the materials produced for the customer.

One advantage of this organization is that it allows for subdivisions of labor. These subdivisions include displays which have a large return from customers such as Walmart and Costco. Also, there are opportunities to feed your own Copack network with materials at a low cost to repack for other customer such as Pepsi and Kellogg to say a few. These customers pay a good amount of money to have their products repacked and marketed to consumers and having a company that is all encompassing is a hard niche to find.
