Question: Example 2 Circuit Design Using Modular Approach The Project: Use Quartus II to design the following circuit: W ? b = a r ( A

Example 2
Circuit Design Using Modular Approach
The Project: Use Quartus II to design the following circuit:
W?b=ar(A)Bbar(C)D+ABCbar(D)+Abar(B)Cbar(D)+bar(A)BCD
The Procedures:
Analyze the original design problem
Break up the problem into smaller design problems: W=x+Y, where
x?b=arAbar(BC)D+ABCbar(D), this is the Example 1
Y=Abar(B)Cbar(D)+bar(ABCD), this is the Project 1
Use Quartus II to modify the Boolean X project inside folder Example 1:
a. Remove all pins.
b. Create a Block (chip) Symbol for this sub-circuit.
c. Save and compile the project.
Use Quartus II to modify the Bgolean_Y . project insider folder Project 1:
a. Remove all pins.
b. Create a Block (chip) Symbol for this sub-circuit.
c. Save and compile the project.
Inside the EET 230L folder, create a folder called, Example 2.
Inside the Example 2, use Quartus II to create a folder and a project called, Bqolean W;
In the Boglean W folder, follow the procedures of Quartus II Tutorial II to combine the two sub-
circuits; import all necessary files.
Save the project, then, compile the project.
Complete a timing analysis.
Assign the pins PIN_G4(SW3) to A, PIN_H6(SW2) to B, PIN_H5(SW1) to C, PIN_J6(SW0) to D;
and assign PIN_J3(LED 2) to W.
Save and compile the project.
Download your design to a DEO board.
Use the truth table to provide the inputs, and verify the output.
Requirements: After a successful testing, demo your project to your instructor.
