Example reply Hello class! I am not yet a Human Resources professional however, that is my current major and I can only hope to be in a role soon. I could go on and on regarding questions that I think that are pointless to an interview but then again, I can admit that I dislike interviewing much. In my opinion, the question "why should we hire you" is not the best question to ask a potential candidate especially after all of the hoops that employers put you through these days. If you have looked over my resume, you would know all of my certificates, education, experience, drive, etc. That should speak for itself. The question can also be considered tricky - if a candidate speaks too highly, they can consider it a red flag. If one doesn't say much and keeps their answer short and sweet - it may not be considered enough, it's frustrating and redundant. As far as the best interview question, I would think that anything that is a direct question pertaining to my skills that require no fluffing, just hard facts are best. One of my favorite questions is "what single project or task would you consider your most significant career accomplishment to date?" I enjoy talking through my accomplishments or sharing things that I am proud of so the employer can see the real me in a professional manner. Ultimately, the effectiveness of an interview question depends on its ability to elicit meaningful responses that provide insight into a candidate's skills, experiences, and suitability for the role. The best interview questions encourage candidates to provide specific examples and demonstrate their abilities, while the worst questions tend to be generic, easily rehearsed, or put candidates in an uncomfortable position without yielding valuable information
