Excels is (U) Ltd, a microfinance operating in Arua city in West Nile sub region of Uganda,serves members of the business community in the city by providing micro loans. The company is seeking to restructure and realign its culture to meet its challenging socioeconomic environment. In the past the company had developed a negative work culture characterized by cronyism and infighting where departmental heads created small chiefdoms that could not effectively cooperate with other departments.
