Find a person and respectfully ask if they would not mind being interviewed for this school assignment. If it's someone you know, that's fine. Our SAS Department might help you find a person if you can't find one. I can help you find a person. The interview should be a comfortable conversation. Make a set of relevant questions (5 or 10 questions max.) that relate to the objectives above. Set up a time to meet in-person, via Zoom, through email, or on the phone. Reserve a maximum of 20 to 30 minutes. Be sure to take notes during the interview. If you record the interview, the student MUST get a written or oral consent that it's okay to record the interview. The student may start the interview with a question like, "Do you. _________________(name) consent recording this interview for school purposes only?" Once the interview is over and you have submitted your assignment, delete the recording. Write a summary of the impact on the person who has the disability and their family.
