Classmates post: The product that I chose for this discussion is the apple iwatch. The Apple iwatch is a smartwatch that allows people to make calls, check text messages and even listen to music while on the go. This product, in my opinion, would fall in both the Shopping and Specialty categories. I would say this because right now there are some competitors in the market where consumers are able to shop around and compare prices but at the same time because of the price, consumers also have to consider the investment and decision-making. Apple itself has created a sort of prestige reputation - at least that is how the marketing department has portrayed it.
The service that I am choosing is a veterinary surgery service. I'm choosing this because I actually work for a veterinary hospital and think it's a good real-life example of a service. This particular service would be an unsought service. People don't necessarily seek out a veterinary surgeon until they are in a situation where they need one.
My product would fall between computer and fast food. My service would fall between teaching and investment advice because although the time is strict, you don't necessarily need a list of contacts for this service.
