Although both survey and experimental method plans have independent and dependent variables, describe how the independent variable is treated differently in experimental studies relative to survey studies. Name and define two common forms of validity and two common forms of reliability of an instrument.

What does it mean to preregister a study method plan? In an experimental method plan, a researcher might consider making an independent variable a between-subjects or a within-subjects variable. Define these two terms, and provide an example of each one in a hypothetical study.
