An effective leader should always have effective communication skills. I think is very important when you are in any kind of management position. Being able to communicate with your peers and employees definitely goes a long way and is beneficial to not only you as an individual in a management position but also beneficial to the people around you. The best leaders are skilled communicators who are able to communicate in a variety of ways, from transmitting information to inspiring others to coaching direct reports. And you must be able to listen to, and communicate with, a wide range of people across roles, geographies, social identities, and more. The quality and effectiveness of communication among leaders across your organization directly affects the success of your business strategy, too (Leading Effectively Article, 2022). An effective leader also treats people with respect, has integrity and are honest. When you treat people with respect they will also respect you and it gains there trust. An effective leader is also self-aware. I feel like when you are more self-aware you are able to make decisions that would benefit everyone. Not everyone is meant to be in a leadership position because they do not have these qualities to be an effective leader. But yes there are aspects of leadership that come naturally to some people but majority of effective leadership qualities can be learned and developed over time.

An effective leader will be ambitious, dedicated, and well versed in whatever department they are leading. By no means is someone born with all of the qualities necessary to be a leader. A strong leader will adapt through experience and learn the qualities necessary to be an efficient leader. There are many people in this world, including myself, that hate public speaking. But, through experience, practice, and learning we can all adapt. I used to hate public speaking but after taking several courses on the topic, I have learned to rise above that fear and truly give it my best. According to our reading an effective leader is "motivated, committed, engaged, and ready to give their best," (Robbins, S. P., & Coulter, M. K, Roader, Yvette. (2018). In my eyes, a strong leader will understand their team and guide them in a way that is productive towards end goals and objectives. Additionally, a strong leader will not give up in the sight of a difficult task. An effective leader will engage with their team and proactively communicate. Leaders are not born leaders. Leaders are born as people, just like you and me. Leaders earn these qualities through vast experience and practice.
