Given that voting in the United States is less common than in many other established democracies, why do you think that other forms of political participation are common? What does that say about politics in the United States? What does it say about politics in other countries?

According to the minimalist paradigm, most of the public is not very knowledgeable about political issues and policies. In our current age with information being so widely available, why might that be the case? In other words, why isn't the public more knowledgeable in our technological age?
