Global Procurement Management II Course Project Information Commodity - "Crude oil" Company : Saudi Aramco https://www.aramco.com/ The basis for the Course Project is to conduct a global procurement exercise using the commodity that your study-group selected at the beginning of the semester. During the course your group developed a profile for your commodity, and for this Course Project you will source that commodity from a foreign supplier and calculate the total landed cost (unit cost in CDN $) to import that commodity to a location in Kitchener, Ontario Canada (you may use the College address as your Canadian location). Some tips for starting the process: Assign roles to your group members for the various components to be completed for the Course Project (for reference consult the overview picture of the Course Project and the grading rubric attached below as Exhibits B and C respectively) . Identify a real supplier of your product in a foreign country Use the profile information you have already developed to identify a typical order/shipment size for your commodity coming to Canada . Using the information above, along with the supplier's terms of sale, negotiate an Incoterm and purchase price for your commodity (in the origin country currency) Use the Internet to identify logistics suppliers who will pick up your commodity from the foreign supplier, ship it to Canada, and deliver it to your business location in Kitchener (show the carriers, routes, ports and hubs involved - describe the process) Use the Internet to find logistics suppliers' rates for the various stages of the journey o you can begin to calculate landed unit costs for your shipment (show rates and calculations) For this exercise you are responsible for negotiating the procurement component and all of the logistics services and Customs requirements State all assumptions made in arriving at a total landed cost for your commodity (show all rates, costs and calculations) Each group member should develop a word file for his/her individual contribution; you will have to assign one group member the role of assembling all the individual student work into your finished Course Project report for submission to your professor. (Include in your report an appendix indicating each group member's contribution to the Course Project.) Format: Your Course Project must include the following components (in this order): 1) Your group cover page identifying title, course name and number, section number, group number and participating group member names. 2) A one-page executive summary describing the process and including the major relevant facts, and the total landed unit cost of your commodity (include your calculations in your report). 3) A MAXIMUM of ten (10) pages (excluding cover page, executive summary, bibliography, appendices, and exhibits), single sided, 1" margin, 12-point Calibri font, detailing the information required in the four major sections of the report. You may decide how to present the information in this section, but it should be logical, comprehensive, legible, and address all the required elements. Please proof-read your final document before submitting it. ) Reports may also contain an additional five (5) pages of relevant appendices and supporting exhibits as required
