I am working on my data analysis assignment. I want to propose that I want to compare the state wide tobacco use( %) in the adults in the year 2017 to the government set goal at below 12% as part of healthy people 2020 project of the government. I am thinking to use a one sample t-test to analyse or compare the mean of the population against the set goal ( standard) mean of 12 %. I am confused as to what am I trying to prove or analyse and conclude at the end. please share some suggestions. Thank you so much in advance.
