My local grocery store is Giant foods. They recently rearranged the layout of the store. As the main grocery shopper for the family, I find this to be very frustrating. If I only need one or two items, I used to be able to run in, grab them quickly, and be out in a matter of minutes. Now, while I relearn the layout, I must walk up and down aisles looking for items.

According to Campbell (n.d.), this change was made to increase profits. By changing the layout, customers are "forced down every aisle, ... making additional purchases they hadn't planned on" (Campbell, n.d). This is the exact experience that I have been having. He goes on to explain that not only do they change the layout when needed, but they will place more profitable items at eye level, high selling item at the beginnings of aisles to entice you down them, and they will rotate locations of items to test what is selling better.

The regional manager for an area is responsible for this decision. While the store manager would be responsible for inventory, schedules, and the other daily operations, the regional manager would be looking for declines in sales (UMGC, 2023). The regional manager would pull reports for their area which consists of several stores. These reports would show trends and patterns on the buying habits of the customers. Perhaps all the stores are declining in profits and need a layout change, or it could be just one. The reports might show that there are declines in only certain product categories and perhaps a whole layout change isn't needed but just better displays on the endcaps or an aisle or two readjusted. The regional manager would use the patterns and trends found in the information that was input from the individual stores to make these decisions. They would even be able to see if a product line wasn't selling and needed to be discontinued all together.

Hello, I need a response to the discussion post below. Assignment details

_ Using IT for Decision Making First, read the Week 2 Content on Data and How Information Supports Decision Making, paying particular attention to the Levels of Decision Making. For this discussion, we will use a retail business as an example. The retail business will consist of corporate headquarters, regions (oversees several stores in a geographic area), and individual stores. Each of these aligns with one of the three levels of decision makers in an organization. Main Post: Select one of the levels of decision making and identify one decision that a manager at that level might make. The decision must relate to the retail business and what it does. Then, explain what information a manager at that level might get from the IT systems, such as inventory management or customer information system, to aid in making that decision. Example: Managerial Level: The Regional Director makes the decision to shift inventory that is not selling from one store to another store with higher sales in those items. To support this decision, the Regional Director would need information on sales of specific products by store. Remember, the Group 2 initial post is due by Friday at midnight. The initial post should be roughly two paragraphs long and supported by external research. Click on "Start a New Thread" to begin your post. Your posts need to thoroughly respond to the questions and incorporate relevant research correctly. Please refer to previous posts from your classmates before choosing your examples. If possible, select an original topic that has not yet been discussed, in order to provide a variety of examples. Then, members of Groups 1, 3, and 4 should reply to at least three different posts by other classmates before Tuesday at midnight. Responses to initial posts should be specific and assess whether the post accurately and sufficiently addresses the questions asked in the discussion topic. Incorporating additional research will strengthen your participation. Assess whether the information is correct or not, and/or complete, and provide correct information to enhance the discussion. Members of Group 2 should read the discussion and reply to a minimum of two responses. Since this is a discussion, all students should be aware of any questions that may have been asked, and respond in a timely and respectful manner. Use the Grading Rubric posted in the Discussion area to ensure your post meets the proper criteria. b
