mental, and emotional well-being is crucial to me. Everyone occasionally needs a day to rest, relax, and rejuvenate not for appointments or using vacation time, but purely for personal wellness. This thoughtful benefit demonstrates a commitment to employee well-being.
A company car program would be a significant factor for me when considering a total compensation package. I previously worked for a company with such a program for 15 years, and it was one of the most valuable perks l've experienced. Having a new car each year without the hassle of dealing with dealerships, warranties, or services was incredibly convenient and beneficial.
Benefits like IBM's transportation allowance and free food/snacks are particularly appealing. Returning to the office after working remotely made me realize the savings and convenience these perks offer.
While I might not have valued this as much before, my perspective has shifted, and I now see it as an important aspect of company benefits.
Benefits that would not matter to me when considering a job offer:
While I appreciate IBM and VMware's adoption and surrogacy assistance, this benefit would not influence my decision when considering a job offer. I do find value in this as most companies focus solely on traditional maternity and paternity benefits, neglecting support for fertility, surrogacy, or adoption. However, as this is not relevant to my personal situation, it doesn't weigh heavily in my considerations.
I am unlikely to be influenced by benefits like employee stock purchase programs or IRAs. Since I do not personally invest or buy stock, these options do not hold any interest for me.
Although I value learning and development programs, such as Linkedin Learning and career development initiatives, I believe these resources are readily available outside of employer assistance. I prefer to pursue these opportunities independently. On the other hand, I find tuition reimbursement to be a more valuable benefit for employees.

B) The three that would matter the most to me when considering a job offer are health insurance, as someone with an existing health issue medical costs can become expensive very quickly, and having good health insurance coverage would help reduce the burden, preventing financial difficulties. The next one would be the health savings account which ties back to my first choice of health insurance, any additional service provided that could help lessen the financial burden of medical expenses provides another source of protection and security both financially and in matters of my personal health. Lastly, a good 401k plan would attract me because this type of benefit is the basis on which I can spend and enjoy my retirement years feeling financially secure.
The three that would not matter to me when considering a job offer are discount programs though there are certain advantages to these programs, but I don't believe they would benefit me in any way financially or otherwise and so they wouldn't be enticing to me at all. Next would be the adoption & surrogacy assistance program, it sounds wonderful and may benefit others. However, in my life, these benefits would not be pertinent at all and would not sway my decision on whether I consider a job offer. Lastly, the staff assistance tuition program, certainly has its advantages too, however for me I would not be interested in it simply because there would be other benefits or compensation that would be of more value to me based on my circumstances such as the ones I listed above.
